CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan conferred title of ‘Nadi Nayak’

Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan was conferred the title of ‘Nadi Nayak’. This title was conferred at the Gandhi Peace Foundation by Waterman Shri Rajendra Singh during the Jal-Jan Jodo Abhiyan, Jal Suraksha Adhiniyam Sammelan. Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan was accorded a grand welcome at the National Water Convention on the successful completion of Narmada Seva Yatra. Apart from the members of Jal-Jan Jodo Abhiyan, Swami Mukteshwaranand Ji Maharaj was also present at the programme.

Waterman Shri Rajendra Singh said that Shivraj Singh Chouhan did the amazing work of connecting the government, society and seers. CM Chouhan has honoured Maa Narmada through the Narmada river conservation and purification campaign. The Chief Minister has honoured Neer (water), Nadi (river) and Nari (woman) and has done a commendable job by participating in the yatra for 49 out of 150 days.

CM Chouhan shared his experiences of the 150-days Yatra and said that the Earth was in trouble. The Earth was struggling with the threat of global warming and climatic changes. If we do not save water, there will be no life on Earth. The resolution is very big and deep and the main aim of the Yatra is to keep the future of the coming generations safe. He said that Maa Narmada is known as Lord Shiva’s daughter and flows between Vindhya and Satpuda. He said that it is not the government but the society that has launched this movement. This Yatra lasted for 5 months and 5 days and its main aim was to stop water from getting polluted. De-addiction campaign was launched, opening of liquor shops up to 5 kms from Narmada river has been banned, setting up of puja kund and sulabh shauchalaya and awareness has been created among people. CM Chouhan said that under this campaign 25 lakh people took the dhwaj in their hands. CM Chouhan said that now the programme of revival of Kshipra river will be taken up soon. Lakhs of people will plant crores of saplings on the banks of Narmada on coming July 2. CM Chouhan appealed to all those present at the programme that they should also contribute in making the programme a success.

Swami Mukteshwaranand Ji lauded Chief Minister’s Narmada Seva Yatra. He said that this is a model work and should be followed by other states. CM Chouhan presented copies of book “Narmada Pravah” on water scheme released by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi to Swami Mukteshwaranand and Waterman Shri Rajendra Singh.
