Network of small dams to be laid down in Pandurna

Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan today performed bhoomi-pujan of Rs 38 crore 94 lakh 13 thousand worth Kamthikala reservoir scheme and the Rs 84 crore worth 31.10 km-long road from Khamarpani to Savarni-Lodhikheda-Raymond Chowk approved under Kendriya Sadak Nidhi Yojana in Pandurna. The Chief Minister said that after the construction of the reservoir a network of small dams will be laid down in the district so that farmers are able to get sufficient water. Farmer Welfare and Agriculture Development Minister and District in Charge Shri Gaurishankar Bisen presided over the programme.

Chief Minister Chouhan said that through the efforts of the farmers the state bagged the Krishi Karman award five times. He said that all problems of the farmers will be solved and farming will be made a profitable business. Farmers will be treated free of cost if they fall sick. If more fund is required it will be given to them from the Mukhya Mantri Swechchanudan. The Chief Minister said that the state government has completed long pending work of the large Pench Diversion Project on priority basis. Now the project’s canal network is being laid which will ensure availability of sufficient water to farmers for crop production. He told that Rs 4 lakh relief fund will be provided to families of farmers who die due to natural calamity, snakebite, lightning etc.

CM Chouhan said that state government will provide patta to every poor person who is born in the state so that he becomes owner of a house. If government land is not available, land will be purchased and given to him for house construction. Twenty lakh houses in urban areas and 15 lakh houses will be constructed in rural areas for them. To ensure that the beneficiary can construct his own house in rural areas, Rs 1.20 lakh will be deposited in his account besides Rs 12,000 for toilet construction and wages from MNREGA if the beneficiary himself works as a labourer. The Chief Minister told that this year houses will be constructed for 725 beneficiaries in Pandhurna for which Rs 51 crore 61 lakh fund has been approved. Fund will be made available for constructing houses for the remaining beneficiaries also.

CM Chouhan said that the youth are the future of India. The future of youths will be enriched. The outline of Mukhya Mantri Meghavi Chaatra Protsahan Yojana is being prepared which will be approved in the Cabinet soon. The Chief Minister said that a Medical College is being opened in Chhindwada which will solve the problems of doctors. He informed that MoU’s related to providing employment to 5 lakh 92 thousand youths from various companies in the recently concluded Global Skill Summit has been signed to provide employment opportunities to youths.

He said that now the seeds of chironji would also be purchased taking into account its abundance in Patalkot region. Chief Minister Chouhan called for constructing one pond each in every panchayat. The Chief Minister announced to provide grant worth Rs 15 lakh on the opening of custom hiring centre and upgradation of 2 middle schools, opening Physics class in M Sc in college of Pandurna and M.Com and M. Sc classes in Saunsar college besides road widening work and upgradation of Raymond Chowk in Lodhikheda at a cost of Rs 49 lakh and 16 thousand. He also announced to provide Rs 3 crore fund for city development and setting up Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj statue in Pandurna.
