CM Chouhan’s appeal to farmers

Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has appealed to all farmers of the state to be patient. We are always ready to solve problems through the medium of discussion and are with the farmers. Do not let those spreading violence succeed in their evil intentions. Our state has always been an epitome of peace. We should once again move in the direction of solving problems if any, with patience, control and peace and make efforts to establish peace in the state.

Our government is that of farmers and we have been taking several big decisions in the interest of farmers for the last 11 years. We have tried to fulfill even those demands that seemed impossible. After discussion with farmers in the last two days, we have fulfilled their demands, including onion purchase. The state government is standing with farmers with full empathy. However, certain political parties conspired to turn the agitation violent. At several places, they attempted to spread disharmony so that the matter could be politicised.

He said that the Mandsaur incident is very sad and unfortunate and has greatly distressed him. The administration was always given instructions to hold discussions with farmers and talk to the ones participating in the agitation with understanding and in good faith. But anti-social elements entered the scene. Incidents happening in the last few days are very distressing and unfortunate.

I pray to God for peace of the departed souls in Mandsaur. Their families are now our families and we are with them. All possible assistance will be provided to their families. An assistance of Rs 1 crores will be given to their families along with a job in the state government. The seriously injured will be given assistance of Rs 5 lakh besides free treatment.
