CM Chouhan to distribute laptops to brilliant students

Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan will distribute laptops to brilliant students under Medhavi Chaatra Protsahan Yojana on June 28, 2017 in Bhopal. Students securing 85 per cent or more marks in MP Board Higher Secondary examination will benefit from the scheme. Students belonging to the SC/ST category must secure 75 per cent or more marks to avail the benefits of the scheme.

Total 18 thousand 578 students from both government and non-government schools are being given fund of Rs 25,000 per student for the laptop under the Medhavi Chaatra Protsahan Yojana this year. The School Education Department launched the Medhavi Chaatra Protsahan Yojana from year 2009-10. Rs 44 crore 74 lakh was distributed last year to 17 thousand 896 students for purchase of laptops.

Review of preparations

Secretary School Education Smt. Dipti Gaud Mukherji today reviewed the preparations of the programme to be held on June 28 at Lal Parade Ground in Bhopal. He instructed officials to ensure housing and other arrangements for students coming from other districts. Nearly 20 thousand persons including students and teachers will participate in the programme.

Shikshak Protsahan Yojana

School Education Department is running the Shikshak Protsahan Yojana. Under the Yojana, fund will be given to selected teachers of Class 11th with 70 per cent or more exam results in General Government High School and Higher Secondary schools and in Class 12th for 80 per cent or more students passing in Ist division. There is provision under the yojana to give Rs 10,000 to selected teachers of model schools for 70 per cent or more exam result in Class 11th and 90 per cent or more students passing in Ist division in Class 12th.
