Bhopal to set parameters of smart city in World

Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has said that Bhopal will set parameters for smart city in the World. The city has efficiency and capacity for this. He said that people here had taken resolution to make the city clean and they successfully achieved it. Today, Bhopal is the second cleanest city in the country. CM Chouhan was addressing programme to mark the second anniversary of Smart City Plan.

Chief Minister Chouhan said that arrangements for Smart City should be taken care of human sensitivities. Poor's life and environment should be better by smart systems. People living in slums should reside in houses. Efforts are being made for this. He issued directives that all logos of Smart City should be in Hindi as well. Trees of local species should be planted so that oxygen is availed in environment. Next generation gets clean environment. All efforts for this should be made.

Appreciating efforts for constructing cycle tracks, Chief Minister Chouhan said that cycling, on the one hand, makes peoples healthy, it reduces drastically pollution in environment on the other hand. He underlined the need to control rising vehicle number. Suggestion was given to increase financial burden on people having more than one vehicle. He said that Bhopal Municipal Corporation is working fast for the resolution, taken to make Bhopal as clean, healthy, hightech and global city. For efforts made for betterment of poor in smart system, he extended greetings to team of the corporation.

 The Chief Minister said that Madhya Pradesh is gaining progress and development in every sector. Urban development is the first in the state. Twenty cities, from 100 Smart Cities in the country are from the state. Agriculture production of Madhya Pradesh is the highest. Onion production is 32 lakh metric tonnes. Describing Smart City Plan as amazing, he emphasised on keeping fast the working speed. In the beginning, he unveiled GIS portal, Smart Poll and Smart Cycling facility. CM Chouhan announced that he would soon use cycling facility.

Municipal Corporation commissioner Smt Chhavi Bhardwaj told that the second anniversary of re-development plan of Tatya Tope Nagar is being celebrated in Bhopal Smart City. He presented conceptual plan of Smart City Bhopal sprawling in 342 acre area. Short film was displayed in the programme.

Urban Development and Housing Minister Smt Maya Singh, Mayor Shri Alok Sharma, Member of Parliament Shri Alok Sanjar, MLA Shri Surendra Nath Singh, MLA Shri Vishnu Khatri, Chairman of the corporation Dr Surjeet Singh Chouhan, Chairman of Civil Supplies Corporation Dr Hitesh Vajpayee, Chairman of Bhopal Development Authority Shri Om Yadav, Vice President of state BJP Shri Brijesh Lunawat, Chairman of Bhopal Smart City Development Corporation and Collector, Shri Sudam Khare, public representatives, eminent persons, municipal corporation representatives and officials were present in the programme.
