Now Public Programmes will begin with Plantation and Kanya Poojan Ceremony

Inaugurating the Grand Plantation Campaign, Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan said that now public programmes will begin with plantation and Kanya Poojan in the state. He said that entire state is fulfilling the commitment to enrich greenery around Maa Narmada today. Lakh of people are performing Maa Narmada’s pooja and undertaking plantation at their own will. There is an atmosphere of enthusiasm in the entire state. Elders, children, women, students, farmers, social activists, journalists, administrative officers, police personnel and people from all walks of life are planting saplings today. This is the world’s peerless example of public participation and river conservation.

Addressing the people in Grand Plantation programme at Amarkantak today, Chief Minister Chouhan said that trees are integral part of life. They give us breathe of life. Controls the earth’s temperature, therefore each citizen of the state should shoulder responsibility to plant at least one sapling besides its protection, than only we can achieve our target. The Chief Minister Chouhan also participated in the plantation programme organized by Police, Sports and Youth Welfare department.

It may be mentioned that at the initiative of CM Chouhan, 11 lakh saplings are being planted on both the banks of Narmada River in Anuppur district today. Saplings are being planted in 38 gram panchayats of Pushparajgarh Janpad by Forest, Agriculture, Horticulture besides Panchayat and Rural Development department. Lions Club, Rotary Club, Jan Abhiyan Parishad, Police, Administration, Sports and Youth Welfare department, Societies, N.C.C., N.S.S, Scouts, Students of school and colleges, Journalists’ organizations and S.E.C.L. are playing an important role in the plantation campaign.

Minister for Forest Dr. Gourishankar Shejwar, Minister in-charge of Anuppur District Shri Sanjay Satyendra Pathak, Chairman Scheduled Tribe Commission Shri Narendra Marawi, Chairman Vindhya Development Authority Shri Subhash Singh, MLAs Shri Ramlal Routel, Shri Phundelal Singh, President Nagar Panchayat Amarkantak Sushri Prabha Panariya, Senior Administrative Officers and people in large number enthusiastically participated in the plantation programme.
