Second Agriculture Revolution will take place in M.P.- CM Chouhan

Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan said that second agriculture revolution will take place in Madhya Pradesh now. Farmers will get profitable value of their produces and their problems will be redressed permanently by this. The country will also get new direction. Reviewing the purchase of onion at Mantralaya today, CM Chouhan issued instructions for constituting a high level committee for monitoring of onion purchase and auction. He further mentioned that people doing irregularities in purchase of onion and in sale and auction process will not be spared at any cost. Strict action will be taken against those people.

CM  Chouhan said that a transparent system has been made for purchase of onion and auction. High level vigilance committee will monitor this system till next three months He mentioned that onion purchase will also be investigated. In case of complaints from any centre, a special investigation team will be sent to investigate these complaints.

It was informed in the meeting that a total of 8 lakh 76 thousand metric tonne onion has been purchased till date. About 90 percent onion has already been auctioned. Keeping in view the purchase quantity, the Government of India had expressed possibility that 20 percent of onion will deteriorate, however only 5 percent of onion has deteriorated till now. Smooth and proper arrangement to make onion available to poor from ration shops was most successful. Remaining stock of onion will be dispose off shortly. A total of One lakh 54 thousand farmers have been benefitted through purchase of onion. Chief Minister Chouhan issued directives to the officers that process of payment should not get affected during the investigation of purchase and auction process.

Moreover, CM Chouhan said that complete protection will be provided to the government team linked with onion purchase and auction process which are working as per the intentions of the government and prescribed process. A strict action will be taken against persons for irregularities. It was informed that onion producing farmers are fully satisfied with the arrangement of onion purchase. They have received the profitable value of their produces. System is being carrying out smoothly. CM Chouhan directed the officials to initiate work for formation of Krishi Lagat Mulya Nirdharan Ayog at the earliest.

Minister for Agriculture Shri Gourishankar Bisen, Minister of State for Cooperative (Independent Charge) Shri Vishwas Sarang, Chief Secretary Shri B.P. Singh, Agriculture Production Commissioner Shri P.C. Meena, Principal Secretary Agriculture Dr. Rajesh Rajora, Principal Secretary Cooperative Shri Ajit Kesri and Senior Officers were present in the meeting.
