One-acre land rule for recognition of private schools ends

Private schools in state will no longer be bound for ownership of one-acre land for recognition. Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan made this announcement today during a discussion with a delegation of private school owners led by Minister of State for Cooperatives Shri Vishwas Sarang at his residence.

It may be noted here that the School Education Department had issued orders in this connection. CM Chouhan told the managers and owners of private schools that they should concentrate on impoving standard of education. He said the government is committed to imrpove the quality of education. Imparting knowledge is the most pious work. He said the schools should fulfil this responsibility with honesty and committment. They should support the government in building the future of children. It may be noted that the private school owners had urged the Chief Minister that this was not practical for cities. The Chief Minister held discussion with the delegation on other topics also.
