Chitrakoot to be developed as religious tourism site

Addressing the Antyodaya-Saha-Swasthya Sammelan at Majhgawan village in Satna district today, Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan said that Chitrakoot will be developed in the form of a religious tourism site. Majhgawan will acquire a Nagar Panchayat status and irrigation facility would be made available in the region through Rs 371 crore pipeline in 106 villages. CM Chouhan instructed the officials to launch an intensive dacoit elimination campaign in Chitrakoot region establish peace and harmony in the region. He made it clear that stern action would be taken against those who provide assistance or shelter of any kind to the dacoits. The Chief Minister said that apart from construction of a mini stadium in Majhgawan, water collection work will be promoted through construction of Bahuti Sagar Mutlipurpose Project and small dams.

The Chief Minister said that Nanaji Deshmukh had initiated significant works for the upliftment of the region for which efforts will be made to complete it. Water will be brought through a pipeline from Bansagar to enable farmers to irrigate their fields through small pipes to put an end to their backwardness. He said that Charan Paduka Programme will be implemented for tendu patta collectors in the state so that no person remains barefoot. Kuppis of cold drinking water will be provided to poor women through a campaign. Free Khasra and B-1 would be distributed from door-to-door after August 15. CM Chouhan gave clear instructions to revenue officials to show promptness in redressing all kinds of cases including disputed and undisputed and laxity would not be tolerated.

CM Chouhan said that below poverty line families would be provided with electricity at Rs 200 flat rate. Fund would be provided to 15 lakh poor persons for construction of houses under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana in state in the coming two years. A Price Stabilisation Fund is being initiated for farmers to fetch a fair price for their produce. The produce that is not fetching support price for the farmers will be purchased by the government so that the production of farmers increases and farming can be made a beneficial profession.

Chief Minister CM Chouhan distributed various benefits to 2449 beneficiaries during the programme. Over 200 persons were examined at the health camp organized on the occasion and medicines were distributed to them. Chief Minister Chouhan performed bhoomi-pujan of various works in Majhgawan region and also dedicated them.

MP Shri Ganesh Singh, Minority Financial Development Corporation Chairman Shri Pradeep Patel, District Panchayat President Ms Sudha Singh, MLA Shri Narayan Tripathi, former MLA Shri Surendra Singh Gaharwar, Shri Narendra Tripathi, Shri Vishnudutt Sharma, Shri Ramdas Mishra, Shri Lakshmi Yadav, Shri Ram Singh, public representatives, administrative officials and local citizens were present during the programme.
