Religious and historic places in Chitrakoot to be developed

Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan said that all places of historic and religious importance in Chitrakoot will be developed and beautified keeping their natural beauty and originality intact. CM Chouhan toured round the Janaki Kund, Sfatik Shila, Ramghat and Raghav Prayag Ghat situated on the bank of Mandakini, Vandevi and Hanuman Dhara during his visit to Chitrakoot in Satna district and held a discussion with seers and citizens.

He said that final shape would be given to the scheme of beautification and development of places of religious importance in Chitrakoot and nearby areas in Ramayan Circuit according to local people’s sentiments. Public Work Minister Shri Rampal Singh, Commerce and Industry Minister Shri Rajendra Shukla, District BJP President Shri Narendra Tripathi, Deendayal Research Institute Pradhan Sachiv Shri Abhay Mahajan were present on the occasion.

CM Chouhan reached Hanuman Dhara first and took information about the works of proposed beautification and development facilities by Tourism Development Corporation. He issued instruction to construct railing shade on both sides of the Hanuman Dhara stairs and a huge swagat dwar. He said that where the stairs are narrow it will be widened. He instructed to construct toilets and dustbins in Hanuman Dhara. He instructed to arrange shops systematically and construct a primary school building in Hanuman Dhara.

After inspecting Vandevi temple premises the CM said a boundary wall will be created to make the spot more beautiful and the ancient well will be beautified. A community hall would be constructed. CM Chouhan visited the Sitakund (Janaki Kund) situated on the Mandakini river bank.He instructed to protect the symbols of religious importance, give new form to the ghat, to maintain the trees on Mandakini river bank and ensure public facility and drinking water facility. The sewer line scheme will be completed soon so that dirty water does not flow into Mandakini river, said Shri Chouhan.

CM takes part in the Mandakini Ganga arti

Chief Minister Chouhan performed pooja archana and visited the Matsyagajendranath Shiv temple near Ramghat on the banks of Mandakini Ganga. Later he and his wife Smt. Sadhana Singh performed puja archana and arti of Maa Ganga Mandakini. CM Chouhan went for a boat ride with Shri Rajendra Shukla and Shri Rampal Singh. MP Banda Shri Bhairon Prasad Mishra was also present on the occasion.
