Pay remaining amount of Moong, Urad purchase to farmers soon: CM

Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan reviewed purchase of Moong, Urad and Tuar at Mantralaya today. He instructed officials to make payment of remaining amount of purchase of pulses soon. Farmer Welfare and Agriculture Development Minister Shri Gaurishankar Bisen and senior officials were present on the occasion.

CM Chouhan said that Bhavantar Yojana has been launched to give benefit to farmers. This will enable farmers to get fair price for their produce. He instructed officials to make full payment of moong, urad and tuar purchased on support price to farmers. Meanwhile it was told that moong has been purchased at a support price of 2 lakh 15 thousand metric tonne, urad at 40 thosuand metric tonne and tuar at 27 thousand metric tonne in state. Farmers have been paid Rs 954 crores for moong and Rs 177 crores for urad.

It was informed on the occasion that registration of farmers will be done till October 15 under Bhavantar Yojana. Now moong, urad, tuar, corn and soyabean purchase will be done under this scheme. Among those present at the meeting included Commissioner Agriculture Production Shri P.C. Meena, Additional Chief Secretary Finance Shri A.P. Shrivastava, Principal Secretary Agriculture Dr. Rajesh Rajoura, Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister Shri Ashok Vernawal, Principal Secretary Food and Civil Supplies Smt. Neelam Rao, Principal Secretary Cooperatives Shri K. C. Gupta and Secretary to Chief Secretary Shri Vivek Agrawal.
