Vaccination is an Effort to Save Children’s Lives: CM Chouhan

Chief Minister Shivraj Singh said that vaccination campaign is an effort to save children’s lives. Cooperation of society is most essential for the success of vaccination effort of the government. Union Minister for Social Justice and Empowerment Shri Thawarchand Gehlot mentioned that panchayats ensuring complete vaccination under the campaign will be awarded. Madhya Pradesh will become the leading state in effective execution of this vaccination’s special drive also. This was said at the Saghan Mission Indradhanush Inaugural Programme held at CM House today. At the inaugural programme, CM Chouhan and Union Minister Shri Gehlot administered the vaccination drops to the children and flagged off the mobile teams. Colourful umbrellas printed with information on 7 kinds of vaccinations were provided to the health workers.

CM Chouhan mentioned that the vaccination is an effort to save children’s lives and to protect them from disabilities. They should have healthy lives. This is a big service to the humanity. Each and every individual of the society must come forward for cooperation to make vaccination campaign successful. He exhorted citizens, public representatives, social activists and intellectuals, that any child of their surrounding areas should not be deprived of vaccination. Take resolution for success of this campaign. He further stated that the special vaccination campaign is being conducted in cooperation of the State and Union Government. During the campaign efforts will be made to ensure complete vaccination and to generate awareness among the people. CM Chouhan informed that focus will be laid on 13 districts and 89 scheduled tribe blocks of the state during the campaign.

Union Minister Shri Gehlot asserted that Madhya Pradesh has become the leading state for implementation of Union Government’s schemes. Effective efforts have been made in the state for reduction in mother and child mortality rate. He expressed the hope that Madhya Pradesh will become a leading state for executing this campaign also. Shri Gahlot informed that panchayats which attain complete vaccination target in the district will be rewarded with Rs. 2 lakh under the campaign. An intensive Mission Indradhanush campaign is being launched for the districts which lacks in vaccination. It is an effort to reduce the mother and child mortality rate. The campaign will be conducted in stages with planning. Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi is inaugurating the campaign himself from Badnagar district of Gujarat.

At the inaugural programme, the Chief of UNICEF Madhya Pradesh Shri Michael Juma said that complete vaccination is an effective effort. He lauded the unique initiatives taken by the state government for the success of campaign.

It was informed in the programme that the state government has taken a special initiative of its own kind in the country to reach people of remote areas for vaccination. Total 941 mobile teams have been formed for vaccination in all the 89 scheduled tribe blocks of the state. During the campaign, vaccination will be administered to 90 thousand children including new born babies and children upto the age of 2 years beside 23 thousand 234 pregnant ladies by 2 thousand 668 health workers.

Commissioner Public Health and Family Welfare Smt. Pallavi Jain Govil, Secretary Public Health and Family Welfare Shri Kavindra Kiyawat and Communication Expert of UNICEF Madhya Pradesh Shri Anil Gulati were present in the programme.
