One Lakh 25 Thousand Farmers to Get 197 Crore Difference Amount

Difference amount of Rs. 197 crore will be distributed to One lakh 25 thousand farmers of the state under the Bhavantar Bhugtan Yojana. Crop has been sold by these farmers in mandis between the period October 16 and 31. The farmers registered under the scheme will get information about the prevailing rates in the mandis by SMS. This was informed in the review meeting of Bhavantar Bhugtan Yojana convened by the Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan here today. Chief Secretary Shri B.P. Singh was present in the meeting.

CM Chouhan reviewed actions taken till now under the Bhavantar Bhugtan Yojana in the meeting. He gave instructions to ensure that no mischief and irregularities take place under the scheme. Bhavantar Bhugtan Yojana should be monitored constantly. The difference amount should be paid in the districts under the scheme by making a committee in the chairmanship of the collector. Farmers should be informed about the scheme and make arrangement to give information on prevailing rates in mandis so that they must have on hand knowledge about the rates before they take their produces to mandis. Farmers should be informed about the rates through SMS and radio. Shri Chouhan said that this scheme is a major step in the interest of the farmers and Madhya Pradesh has created a new history by implementing this scheme.

It was informed in the meeting that action is being taken in mandis in a proper manner under the scheme. The average rate of soybean and sesame under the Bhavantar Bhugtan Yojana are completely stable and equal in comparison to model mandi rates of other states after the implementation of the scheme. Principal Secretary Agriculture Dr. Rajesh Rajora informed that according to the Principal Secretary Agriculture-Maharashtra, the Maharashtra Government is going to implement the Bhavantar Bhugtan Yojana similar to Madhya Pradesh for soybean from this kharif season.

Total 7 lakh 87 thousand metric tonne soybean by 2 lakh 15 thousand farmers, 59 thousand 790 metric tonne urad by 63 thousand 590 farmers and 93 thousand 108 metric tonne maize by 24 thousand 633 farmers have been sold in mandis under the scheme till now. In this way, about 10 lakh metric tonne agriculture produces has been sold in 8 mandis by total 3 lakh 3 thousand registered farmers under the scheme till now. Ninety percent area of the registered farmers has been verified under the scheme. Twenty three percent increase in crop arrival in mandis has been registered as compared to the last year. Registration of farmers for Jawar-Bajra crop under the Bhavantar Bhugtan Yojana is being carried out.

Mishra, Principal Secretary Cooperatives Shri K.C. Gupta, Managing Director Mandi Shri Faiz Ahmed Qidwai, Commissioner Public Relations Shri Anupam Rajan, and Secretary to CM Shri Vivek Agrawal were also present in the meeting.
