Dam on Dudhi river to constructed by Rs 1400 crores - Chief Minister

Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan inaugurated Krishi Vigyan Kendra at Bhausaheb Bhuskute Lok Nyas Parisar, Govind Nagar, in village Bankhedi of Hoshangabad district and announced that a dam on Dudhi river will be constructed by spending Rs1400 crores. This will irrigate 1.50 lakh acres land and benefit farmers of Hoshangabad and Narsinghpur districts. The Chief Minister said that the irrigation facility will carry pipeline for maximum use of water from the dam. Farmers will irrigate their farms using sprinkler and drip irrigation system. 

CM Chouhan said that Bhausaheb Bhuskate Institute always guided farmers for developing of organic farming and upgrade farming system. He said that construction work will soon start for Krishi Vigyan Kendra by sanctioning fund for the building. The Chief Minister said that land fertility is reducing due to excess use of chemical fertilisers and farms are becoming barren. He said that farmers will get right guidance from this Krishi Vigyan Kendra for redressing this problem. Farmers should dopt crop cycle and organic farming. CM Chauhan said that only increasing agriculture production is not enough to double farmers' income. Farmers should carry out animal husbandry and vegetable production as well for additional source of income. He said that cow progeny will be increased connecting it with farming. Cows are not only for milk. Cow progeny is very  much needed for increasing fertility of the land. 

Chief Minister Chouhan said that Bhavantar Bhugtan Yojana will prove to be a boon for farmers. He said that market rates get down when bumber crop arrives. Bhavantar Bhugtan Yojana is being executed to save farmers from the loss in this situation. CM Chouhan said that this scheme has been launched to give fair value to the farmers' labour. He said that first model rate of Bhavantar Yojana has been announced on October 31. Amount of price difference will be given to farmers on the basis of this. 

Sah Sarkaryavahak of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh, Shri Suresh Soni said that throgh this Krishi Vigyan Kendra, farmers of 900 villages of this region will be imparted training for advanced farming, organic farming, cow rearing and environmental protection. This will improve farming in the region and the farmers will be prosperous. He said that Hoshangabad district will be the model in farming not in Madhya Pradesh but in the country with the help of Krishi Vigyan Kendra and the Institute.

Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan and Sah Sarkaryavahak of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh, Shri Suresh Soni fed cows in Gaushala of Bhuskatee Trust Institute and performed bhoomi-pujan for the construction work.
