CM Chouhan Performs Bhoomi Poojan of World’s Biggest Solar Power Plant at Gudh

The World’s biggest Solar Power Plant is being established at Gudh Tahsil of Rewa District. Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan performed bhoomi-poojan of the solar power plant in a grand programme today. The plant will produce 750 m.w. electricity. More over the plant will produce electricity at a cost of just Rs. 2.97 per unit, which is the lowest in the world. Furthermore, CM Chouhan also inaugurated Pradhan Mantri Soubhagya Yojana in the programme. He distributed benefits of different public welfare schemes to the beneficiaries too. CM Chouhan made announcement for opening a Higher Secondary School in village Badwar and released the souvenir of Soubhagya Yojana.

In the programme held at village Badwar of district Rewa, CM Chouhan said that it is a matter of pride for all of us that the biggest Solar Power Plant of the world is being established at Rewa. Vindhya region being a center of Thermal and Hydro Power already has also become a center of Solar Power. Solar energy will be produced by this plant at the lowest rate of the world without causing damage to the environment. The energy produced by the plant will run metro rail of the Capital. Moreover, the houses and industries will get power generated from this plant at low rates.

Moreover, CM Chouhan mentioned that the Soubhagya Yojana has been started to give electricity connection to every house. Under the scheme, electricity connection will be provided to each house of Madhya Pradesh by December-2018. Five thousand connections are being given in Rewa district under the scheme this year. He informed that Rs. 2 lakh crore has been invested in energy sector in the state during the last 5 years.

CM Chouhan further stated that constant efforts are being made by the state government for the welfare of poor. Twenty four hours electricity is being provided in the state. Law has been enacted to give land rights to every poor. In the next three years, the dream to own his/her own house will become true. Land rights letters are being given to 15 thousand families in Rewa district. Under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, 8 lakh pucca houses are being given this year.

CM Chouhan informed about progress in education, self-employment, free medicine distribution, women empowerment and Bhavantar Bhugtan Yojana in the programme. He said that the farmers of Vindhya region are hard working and the farmers getting good agriculture yield utilizing irrigation facility from Bansagar Dam.

Union Minister of State for Energy Shri R.K. Singh said that Madhya Pradesh Government has carried out remarkable works for the welfare of poor and state’s development. He mentioned that law is being enacted to impose fine on load shedding after March 2019. He further mentioned that Rewa Ultra Mega Solar Plant is not only the country but is the best solar project of the world.

State’s Minister for Energy Shri Paras Jain stated that the Solar Power Plant is the big gift for Vindhya region. Connections to 42 lakh families are being given in the state under the Soubhagya Yojana. He also informed about the feeder separation.

Minister for Industries and Mineral Resources Shri Rajendra Shukla said that solar power plant will give new direction to the non-traditional energy sector. The plant will complete by September 2018. Out of the income generated from this plant, a sum of Rs. 15 crore will be spent for the development of Gudh area.

Guests were honoured by presenting mementos to them in the programme. Principal Secretary Energy Shri I.C.P. Kesri and Secretary Renewable Energy Shri Manu Shrivastava informed about the power projects of the state. Those who present in the programme included Chairman Urja Vikas Nigam Shri Vijendra Singh Sisodiya, Member of Parliament Shri Janardan Mishra, Chairman Vindhya Development Authority Shri Subhash Singh, MLAs Shri Sunder Lal Tiwari, Shri Divyaraj Singh, Sushri Sheela Tyagi, Former MLA Shri Nagendra Singh, Vice President Jila Panchayat Smt. Vibha Patel and beneficiaries in large number.
