CM Chouhan declares war against malnutrition in Sahariya Samaj

Declaring a war against malnutrition in Sahariya dominated Karahal block of Sheopur district Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan said that Madhya Pradesh government will grant Rs 1000 to one female member of each Sahariya family to fight against nutrition. Rs 10 per kg Moong dal @one person will be made available to each member of a Sahariya family. He dedicated various construction work and laid the foundation of various approved workof worth Rs 36 core 22 lakh under karahal development block.

Gifts to Karahal region and Sahariya Samaj

  • College classes to be introduced from the coming academic session at Karahal Janpad headquarter.

  • Cultural centre and Community centre to be set up in the name of Sabri Mata at a cost of Rs 7.5 crore in Karahal.

  • Hostel to be constructed at a cost of Rs 17 crore 20 lakh for the higher education of scheduled tribe children in Gwalior and Indore.

  • Computer training centre to be opened for Sahariya tribe children in Shivpuri and Karahal (Sheopur).

  • Sahariya tribe youths who have passed Class 12th to be given concession in the written examination for police recruitment.

  • Non-adivasis will not be able to purchase adivasi’s land.

  • Sahariya tribe families staying in kachha houses will be provided assistance for construction of 22 thousand pucca houses by March.

  • 286 language teachers of Sahariya language will be appointed.

  • Sahariya tribe girls who have passed Class 12th will be provided free ANM training.

  • Power lines will be laid and free power connections will be provided in adivasi tola-majras and villages by the end of 2018 for which Rs 123 crore will be approved.

  • 10 thousand Sahariya tribe children will be imparted ITI skill training.

  • Forest Rights pattaholders will be provided with fertilizers and seeds besides Bhavantar Bhugtan Yojana benefits.

  • Rs 3 crore 74 lakhs will be provided for construction of stop dams in Karahal region.

  • All 38,000 homeless families in Sheopur district will be provided residential pattas in 2018.

  • Rs one crore will be made available for construction of Sita Mata mandir in Karila Mata Mandir premises in Ashoknagar district.

 

CM Chouhan said that the resolve taken by the Madhya Pradesh government to eradicate malnutrition from Sahariya Adivasi Samaj on the occasion of former Prime Minister Shri Atal Behari Vajpayee's birthday will be fulfilled by the combined efforts of the government and the society. He said that the Madhya Pradesh government has taken several important decisions for the welfare of the Sahariya tribe and other backward tribes in which Prime Minister’s Garib Kalyan Agenda will be implemented by the state government and poor families will be provided wheat, rice and salt at Rs one per kg. State government will provide Rs 1000 per month per family for nutritious food to face malnutrition. This scheme will benefit 43,447 families of Sahariya Samaj. He urged women belonging to the Sahariya families to use the fund provided to them by the government only for health and nutritious food for their children.

CM Chouhan told the anganwadi workers to mark the malnourished children and get them admitted in the Poshan Punarvas Kendras. Government will provide Rs 50 per dayt to the mothers of such children as payment against labour.

Among those who expressed their views during the samaroh were Sahariya Samaj representative Shri Sitaram Adivasi and Sahariya-Baiga-Bhariya Mukti Morcha Cooordinator Shri Mukesh Malhotra and former district panchayat president Smt. Guddi Bai.

Residential land-rights letter to 7560 Sahariya families

As many 7560 Sahariya families of the district were presented residential land-rights letters during the programme. CM Chouhan laid the foundation and dedicated development works worth Rs 36 crore 22 lakhs.

CM administers six vows

CM Chouhan administered six resolves to the Sahariya community members for their social and economic development.

  1. Will build a society free of drugs.

  2. Will educate both sons and daughters.

  3. Will send malnourished children to Nutrition Rehabilitation Centres.

  4. Will not sell own land.

  5. Will not give one’s ration card to anyone.

The Chief Minister distributed Rs 1104.5 lakhs to self-help groups and village organizations, revolving fund of Rs 16.20 lakhs to 108 groups, Rs 102.4 lakh CIF Fund to 128 groups, Rs 10.80 lakhs start-up fund to 72 groups and Rs 10 lakh as start-up fund to 5 village organisations under NRLM during the programme.

CM measured with forest produce and honoured by Sahariya community

After the sammelan, Sahariya community members led by Sahariya-Bhariya-Baiga Mukti Morcha coordinator Shri Mukesh Malhotra measured the Chief Minister with the forest produce produced in Karahal region and honoured him. It may be noted that the Sahariya community depend on this forest produce for their living.
