Sewerage Treatment Plants to be Installed in Cities Situated on the Banks of Narmada River

Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan said that a sewerage treatment plant costing Rs. 31 crore 53 lakh will be installed in Dindori city. He mentioned that Narmada river will be prevented from pollution. CM Chouhan was addressing the District Level Antodaya Mela, after laying the foundation of sewerage treatment plant in Dindori, on the occasion of Narmada Jayanti today. MLA Shri Omkar Markam and local Public Representatives were also present in the programme.

CM Chouhan mentioned that sewerage will be treated from the treatment plant and the clean water will be supplied to the agriculture fields for irrigation. He urged citizens not to dispose of poojan material in Narmada river. He further said that poojan kunds will be constructed on the banks of Narmada river for poojan material. CM Chouhan stated that the sewerage treatment plant will be handed over to the construction agency on 10 year’s contract for its successful functioning.

Deliberating on the quality of school education, CM Chouhan said that different cadres of teachers will be merged in school education department now. He mentioned that students will not need to go outside for college education, colleges in Karanjia, Samnapur and Amarpur will be opened shortly. CM Chouhan also gave directives for starting M.Com. classes in Dindori College from the next academic session.

Moreover, CM Chouhan said that the Narmada Jayanti will be celebrated with entire festivities for 3 days in the state. Every possible help will be provided by the state government for celebrations. He further mentioned that 8 crore saplings will be planted on July 2 to make the Narmada river’s surrounding area green.

Furthermore, CM Chouhan stated that Narmada river is a life line of Madhya Pradesh. Narmada river provides water for irrigation and electricity to the houses. He said that the resolutions taken during the ‘Namami Devi Narmade’- Seva Yatra will be fulfilled. Programme was also addressed by the Minister of Food and Civil Supplies Shri Ompraksah Dhurve
