WAKE UP CALL FOR WOMEN SAFETY

There is a debate going on between the intellectuals and Governments of various Nations nation on “women security’’. The Government of Madhya Pradesh is making serious efforts in this direction. Some of the innovative initiatives taken by the Police administration of Madhya Pradesh are as follows -

Women Desk – Every police station has a women desk to ensure prompt action on complaints filed.
Helpline 1090 – It’s a toll-free telephone number for quick action against complaints made by women.
Social Media - You can check location on Facebook, Twitter or any social media handle of Women Crime Branch.
Nirbhaya Patrolling – This is meant to handle cases of women harassment in schools, colleges, hostels, parks and market areas of the state.
Mahila Thana - Women police stations in major cities of Bhopal, Indore, Gwalior, Ujjain, Satna, Sagar, Jabalpur, Rewa, Ratlam and Katni.
Self-Defense Training – Girls in schools and colleges are provided self-defense training.
Awareness Camp - Organize informative camps in schools addressing issues related to women's safety.
Fast Track Court – Meant to quickly clear pending cases on crime against women in all 51 districts.
Family Counseling Centers - Establishment of counseling centers in the state to prevent domestic violence and family disruption.
MPeCop Mobile App - This app enables citizens with the facility to report an incident without visiting a police station.
Maitri App - This in case of an emergency the app will connect you to 5 family members and dial 1090.

Security of women is everyone’s responsibility. It is not just the role of police administration but also of every citizen to ensure a safe world to live in.
