Virangana Rani Avanti Bai is an Icon of Women Empowerment: CM

Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan said that Virangana Rani Avanti Bai is an icon of women empowerment. She sacrificed her life while fighting British to protect the motherland. He mentioned that we get inspiration for patriotism at the Samadhi Sthal of Virangana. Shri Chouhan was addressing the Antodaya Mela and Women Convention held on the occasion of Martyr Day of Virangana Rani Avanti Bai at village Balpur of Dindori district today. He also paid floral tribute to Virangana Rani Avanti Bai on the occasion.

CM Shri Chouhan said that beautification of Virangana Aavanti Bai’s memorial sites will be carried out. He appreciated efforts made by the tribal of the district to preserve the Samadhi sthal and memories of Rani Avanti Bai. He further stated that labourers’ convention will also be organized in Dindori district. Benefits of the schemes being implemented for them will be given. Moreover, plots to the landless labourers will be given. Several schemes have been implemented for the welfare of the labourers. An effort will be made to link them with the self employment too, he added.

Shri Chouhan said that the women of Dindori district have carved a special niche in the state as well as in the country by setting self employment. Good profit is being earned by the women of the district by bumper production of Kodo-Kutki. Every possible help will be provided to increase the production. He mentioned that children will become malnutrition free by the nutritious food Kodo-Kutki. Chief Minister said that Higher Secondary schools will be opened in Sarasdoli and Kisalpuri gram panchayat of the district. He also distributed benefits to the beneficiaries of various schemes at the programme.

Minister for Food Shri Omprakash Dhurve, MPs Shri Faggan Singh Kulaste and Shri Prahalad Patel also addressed the programme. Minister of State for Ayush Shri Jalam Singh Patel, President District Panchayat Smt. Jyoti Prakash Dhurve, President Janpad Panchayat Smt. Devvati Balre and President Nagar Panchayat Shri Pankaj Singh were present on the occasion.

Chief Minister Asks ‘Kaisa Chal Raha hai Ghunda Virodhi Abhiyan’ on reaching Jabalpur

Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan immediately after alighting the aeroplane at Dumna airport of Jabalpur asked collector and SP ‘Kaisa Chal raha hai ghunda virodhi abhiyan’ (How is the drive going against the goons) in Jabalpur. He also enquired about the health of the victim girl of Bineki.

CM Shri Chouhan said we have to ensure that negligence should not be caused at any level. Every kind of help should be provided immediately to victim in such cases besides medical treatment. He further said that this kind of activity should be continued against the goons and anti social elements to instill a sense of fear in them.

Shri Chouhan also gathered information from the district collector about the registration of gram, mustard, masoor, onion and garlic producing farmers under the Bhavantar Bhugtan Yojana and labourers of the unorganized sector
