CM Chouhan declares Alirajpur, the Open Defecation Free District

Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan has said that Alirajpur has carried out a praiseworthy work under the open defecation free campaign. Continue efforts to maintain this honour. Shri Chouhan was addressing the programme held to declare Alirajpur an open defecation free district and convention of labourers of the unorganised sector at Alirajpur. He mentioned that Narmada Lift irrigation Scheme will facilitate full irrigation water from 2020.

Dedicates and lays foundation of various construction works costing Rs. 52 crore

Shri Chouhan dedicated and laid foundation of various construction works costing Rs. 52 crore 53 lakh 86 thousand. He also released a book focusing efforts of the district to make it open defecation free. Shri Chouhan also presented open defecation free certificate to the President Jila Panchayat Smt. Anita Chouhan. Besides this, he honoured officers-employees and field staff for their best contribution in ODF work. CM Shri Chouhan also distributed certificates of benefits to beneficiaries of various schemes. He was welcomed with traditional tribal Jhuldi and by presenting bow and arrow.

CM Shri Chouhan stated that 3 percent of the interest amount will be paid by the state government on bank loans to be obtained by the groups formed under the livelihood mission. He said that works like poultry farming and poultry feed factory started by the women of Hoshangabad district should be undertaken in Alirajpur too. He said that benefits of Soubhagya Yojana should be provided to all the people of the district.

Shri Chouhan told that proper arrangements should be made for reading out list of the registered labourers in gram sabhas. He mentioned that slippers, shoes and water bottles are also being given to mahua flowers’ collectors now.

CM Shri Chouhan administered pledge to the people to send their children schools necessarily, to keep their village clean, to stop water and plantation in the programme.

MLA Shri Nagar Singh Chouhan also addressed the programme. Sushri Maria of UNICEF has lauded works undertaken to make Alirajpur open free defecation district. Community has made a big effort by changing its behavior, she added. Minister of State for Labour (Independent Charge) Shri Balkrishna Patidar and President of Asangathit Shahri and Gramin Karmkar Mandal Shri Sultan Singh was also present on the occasion
