Happiness in Labourers’ life is our resolution: CM

Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan has said that happiness in the life of labourers is our resolution. Various schemes for the welfare of labourers of the unorganized sector are an important step in this direction. Poor and underprivileged persons have first right over the government’s wealth. Therefore, the government has taken concrete steps for the betterment of the labourers, who are leading life in poverty.

He was interacting with the labourers of the unorganized sector at Jabalpur today. Member of Legislative Assembly Shri Ashok Rohani was present on the occasion.

CM Shri Chouhan mentioned that the government has decided that no poor will remain without plot in the state but they will be made owner of the land by providing them pattas. Over one lakh pattas will be given in the district. Shri Chouhan further said that the labourers will be made legal owner of their land. Amount will also be given to construct houses after the pattas, he added.

Shri Chouhan urged the labourers that they must educate their children. Fee will be borne by the government. He stated that the government besides free medical treatment for the families of the labourers, has made provision to give money to female labourers during pregnancy and after delivery. He also mentioned about electricity at the flat rate of Rs. 200, Rs. 4 lakh to family in case of accidental death and other provisions. Shri Chouhan also appealed them to connect themselves with self-employment schemes and livelihood mission.

The Chief Minister said that the government is fully committed to make labourers free from the curse of poverty and to increase their income. Shri Chouhan said that six lakh registrations have recorded in Jabalpur district. If anyone has remained, then her or his name will be added on submitting application. He instructed the collector to ensure benefit to all eligible people by constituting monitoring team. The Chief Minister said that the benefits will be provided to all eligible labourers registered between April 1 and May 31. After this, the process of distributing the benefits will continue as per the provisions, to labourers in wards in urban areas and labourers of rural areas.

 Chief Minister Shri Chouhan distributed land lease letters symbolically to eligible beneficiaries registered from April 1, 2018. In addition, cheques were given to some beneficiaries of the urban area under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana. Shri Chauhan also handed over a cheque of Rs 16 thousand to woman worker under Mukhyamantri Shramik Seva Prasuti Sahayata Yojana. Financial assistance of Rs. Four lakh each will be given to families of those, who died in the accident on April 29 in village Mankedi of Shahpura area
