04 Jul 2018

Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan said that the life of human beings depends on the environmental balance. It is essential to plant saplings to save greenery and it is the need of the hour to protect them and help them grow. CM Chouhan said this in a message to the people of the state on Hariyali Mahotsav.

The Chief Minister said that the state government planted saplings at a widespread level with the support of the people during the Narmada Seva Yatra in 2017. This year also saplings will be planted in the catchment area of different rivers including the Narmada on July 15. He expressed a hope that while on one hand, the forest development schemes will help expand green cover, on the one hand, it will also generate new opportunities for employment in the rural areas. He appealed to each citizen of the state to resolve to plant at least one sapling. He expressed a hope that the ‘Hariyali Mahotsav’ will be successful in creating awareness towards protection of saplings.

Hariyali Mahotsav is being observed in the state to create awareness on conservation of green cover.
