Electricity Bill Waiver Scheme programmes to be held across all districts on July 11

Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan said that Sambal Yojana has become a major support to the poor. It has taken the form of a public movement. As a part of it, Chief Minister Electricity Bill Surcharge Waiver Scheme and Saral Bijli Bill Yojana is proving to be a boon. He said that district-level programmes will be organized for registration of new beneficiaries and distribution of electricity bill waiver certificates in all the districts on July 11. The main programme will be organized in Jaora. The Chief Minister said that he will address beneficiaries of the entire state from Jaora. His address can be heard across all the districts from 3 pm.

Chief Minister Chouhan was holding a discussion with the divisional commissioners and district collectors through a video conference at his residence. He said that the process of electricity bill waiver and registration will continue even after July 11.

CM Chouhan directed the district collectors and public representatives to organize programmes in the districts on July 11 and solve difficulties that arise during electricity bill waiver.

Works related to power infrastructure and construction will be dedicated at all the power sub-stations. He instructed the collectors to provide supervision to this scheme in their respective districts and ensure its effective implementation so that the poor get maximum benefits of the scheme. MPs, public representatives and Nagar Panchayat representatives should take apart and ensure that the poor people get the benefits of the scheme. Coordination between the district administration and the public representatives is a must.

Shivraj Singh Chouhan said that the schemes including Sambal Yojana, Electricity Bill Surcharge Waiver Scheme and Saral Bijli Bill Yojana have been launched to free the poor from the unnecessary financial burden. These schemes are to provide support against poverty. No eligible poor family should remain deprived of the benefits of the schemes. CM Chouhan said that he will regularly review Sambal Yojana and Electricity Bill Waiver Scheme. He said that the registration of labourers registered under Bhavan Sannirman Karmakar Kalyan Mandal will be considered acceptable in Sambal Yojana. Praising field staff of power distribution companies he said that the field staff is working very hard.
