Support price to be decided after adding 50 per cent dividend in Agriculture produce cost

Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan while laying the foundation of the Major Irrigation Project costing Rs. 2208 crore at Pichhore Tahsil in the  Headquarters of Shivpuri District today said that the State Government will decide the support price by adding 50 per cent dividend in agriculture produce cost in the coming days. He mentioned that the State Government will procure crops from farmers at the decided support price only. He also announced the grant of status of Nagar Panchayat to Magrouni town.

CM Chouhan said that a provision of potable water has also been made for Khaniyadhana and Pichhore area from the major irrigation project. He informed that the irrigation area has been increased to 40 lakh hectare in the state. Now the State Government has a target to take it to 80 lakh hectare. CM Chouhan informed the gathering about the Sambal Yojana, besides other important schemes and also distributed benefits of various schemes to the beneficiaries.

Provision to generate 19.44MW electricity from the project

The Minister for Public Relations, Water Resources and Parliamentary Affairs Dr Narottam Mishra informed that the project will have full water storing capacity of 371.80 metric square meter and water catchment area of 1843 square km. He further mentioned that the project will facilitate irrigation on One lakh 67 thousand-acre lands of 208 villages of Pichhore Assembly Constituency, 7 thousand-acre lands of 11 villages of Shivpuri Assembly Constituency, 67 thousand-acre lands of 87 villages of Karera Assembly Constituency and 32 thousand-acre lands of 37 villages of Datia Assembly Constituency.
