Such economic activities that provide relief to maximum people must be started

Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan has said that the economy of the state has been badly affected due to ongoing crisis of Corona. It has adversely affected the livelihood of labourers and small traders etc. Hence, such economic activities that can benefit maximum people must be started in the state. Additional opportunities of employment must be generated in the state.

Chief Minister Shri Chouhan was reviewing economic activities of the state in Mantralaya. Chief Secretary Shri Iqbal Singh Bains, Additional Chief Secretary Shri Anurag Jain, Principal Secretary Dr. Rajesh Rajoura, Principal Secretary Shri Manish Rastogi etc. were present in the meeting.

Small traders must get relief

The Chief Minister informed that one crore 17 lakh poor families are connected with the National Food Security Scheme in the state and they are being provided with its benefits. Apart from this, 32 lakh other categories of people are also being provided with the benefits of the scheme. We also have to worry about small traders, employees working in malls etc., flower and vegetable farmers etc. Employment opportunities will have to be generated for them also. Such small self-employed people who are not eligible for assistance in any scheme can be given assistance of National Food Security Scheme.

Loans must be provided to women self-help groups

Chief Minister Shri Chouhan said that women self-help groups conduct various economic activities well and it helps in sustaining many families. Loans should be provided to women self-help groups not only for carrying out their activities, but they should also be assisted to sell their goods. This will provide employment to lakhs of families in the state.

Construction works should be started

The Chief Minister said that construction work should be started by the Water Resources Department and the Public Works Department in those districts of the state which are free from Corona infection. Every contractor should be directed to follow the guidelines and make the labourers work while following social distancing. For this, they should be advised repeatedly. MNREGA works should also be started in a phased manner.

Assistance provided by Government of India

The Chief Minister said that recommendation to increase package approved under Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Yojana from 3 months to 6 months, make payment of EPF contribution of employer and employee for 6 months instead of 3 months, provide its benefits to all employees with salaries up to Rs 15 thousand 3 months and provide Rs 500 financial assistance to all other Jan Dhan account holders like female Jan Dhan account holders.

Canteen facility in poor settlements of urban areas

Canteen facility and State Disaster Relief Fund can also make arrangements for food and stay for the migrant and weaker sections in poor settlements of urban areas.

CIBIL score should remain same as before

Banks should maintain the CIBIL score of those persons who have not been able to deposit their loan installments due to lockdown just as before. That is, they should not incur any loss on late payment of the loan. The period of regulatory package issued by RBI should be increased from 3 to 6 months. The provision of giving loans up to Rs 10 lakhs without collateral to new entrepreneurs should be increased to Rs 25 lakhs
