WORKERS NEED NOT WORRY: THEIR SAFE RETURN WIII BE ENSURED

Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan has appealed to the workers of Madhya Pradesh stranded in other states not to worry. Their safe return to Madhya Pradesh would be ensured. They should have patience, should not walk and give their details by contacting the Control Room. The state government is committed to ensuring their safe return, he assured.

The Chief Minister informed that so far 1.25 lakh workers of Madhya Pradesh stranded in different states have been brought back to the state. Special trains have been arranged for this purpose. Of these, 11 trains have already come back carrying the workers.  Another 10 trains would come tomorrow and 40 more trains are also ready, which will bring the workers back to Madhya Pradesh as per schedule. Madhya Pradesh government is paying the fare for these workers to Government of India, he added.

Shri Chouhan has said that the workers of Madhya Pradesh stranded in other states should contact our Control Room on telephone number 0755-2411180 and after getting themselves registered wait for the train. They will be brought back soon.

The Chief Minister said that he is moved by the Maharashtra incident today. Sixteen of the workers returning on foot had fallen asleep on the railway track and died tragic death. The state government has immediately sent Minister Sushri Meena Singh with a team of officers to Aurngabad and they are making all necessary arrangements there. A financial assistance of Rs. 5 lakh each has been given to the kin of the deceased and the Railways Minister has been urged to provide assistance to them. All other necessary arrangements are being made after discussions with Maharashtra Chief Minister. The bodies of the deceased workers would be brought to Jabalpur by train from where they would be sent to the respective home of the deceased, he added
