CM Shri Chouhan Transfers Rs. 2 Thousand Each to Accounts of Saharia, Bharia and Baiga Women

Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan transferred a sum of Rs. 44 crore 60 lakh 77 thousand to the bank accounts of 2 lakh 26 thousand 362 women belonging to Sahria, Baiga and Bharia primitive tribes from Mantralay here today. Minister for Tribal Welfare Smt. Mina Singh, Principal Secretary Smt. Pallvi Jain Govil and other officers were present on the occasion.

Amount under Ahar Anudan Yojana

The Chief Minister held discussions with these women through videoconferencing. He informed that Ahar Anudan Yojana is being implemented in 15 districts of the state including Sheopur, Morena, Bhind, Gwalior, Shivpuri, Guna, Ashoknagar, Datia, Shahdol, Umaria, Anuppur, Chhindwara, Mandla, Balaghat and Dindori for primitive tribes Saharia, Bharia and Baiga. Under this, a sum of Rs. one thousand is given to them every month. Today the amount was transferred to their accounts for the months of April and May. This amount had not been paid to them for last some months. Shri Chouhan asked the women to utilize this amount for nutritious food to keep healthy.

Concern for Tribal Brothers and Sisters

The Chief Minister said that due to Corona crisis he is not able to coming to meet them, but he is fully concerned for their wellbeing. The state government has started Tendu leaf and forest produce collection so that tribal brothers and sisters can earn a living. The government has fixed remunerative price of forest produce including Mahua, Karanj seed, Achar Chironje and Sal seeds for purchase. Tendu leaves bonus will also be paid. Works under MANREGA have also been resumed, he added.

I am your Brother and Maternal Uncle of Daughters

The Chief Minister, while talking to tribal women of Ashoknagar, Guna, Gwalior, Anuppur, Datia, Shivpuri and Dindori districts, asked them to not worry. The amount would continue to be transfered to them in future, saying that he is their brother and maternal uncle to their daughters.

Be Happy and Educate Children

The Chief Minister asked the tribal women to be happy and educate their children. He said that arrangements have been made to provide jobs to members of Saharia, Baiga and Bharia tribes. He asked them to observe all precautions in the Corona crisis and maintain physical distance of two yards. He said that once the Corona crisis is over he will come to see them with Sushri Meena Singh
