SIT to probe deaths caused by consumption of poisonous substance in Ujjain

Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan convened a special meeting of the senior officials at his residence in the morning today to sought information as regard to the suspicious deaths of some people and the circumstances in Ujjain. Describing the incident as unfortunate, Chief Minister Shri Chouhan has directed that stringent action should be taken against people selling such substances. The network of such people should be destroyed. The incident should be investigated by the Special Investigation Team (SIT). He further instructed that if such substances are being sold at several other places in the state, the police force should find out and take strict action against the culprits. Chief Minister Shri Chouhan said that Additional Chief Secretary, Home should coordinate the matter and submit a report on the basis of preliminary inquiry.

Chief Minister Shri Chouhan said that people selling such poisonous intoxicants are enemies of the society. They should get severe punishment. Action should be taken to ensure capital punishment to them. The people who lost their lives were also very poor. Probably they must have been taking this type of intoxicants for several days. The network of people selling such intoxicants should be destroyed. He instructed to keep a watch on such cases, not only in Ujjain but also in the entire state. Wherever there is a probability of selling such adulterated and poisonous substances, strict action should be taken, he added.

Crimes against girls and women will not be tolerated

Chief Minister Shri Chouhan sought information about the action taken by the police in connection with the crime against a girl in Bhopal. He said that crimes against girls and women will not be tolerated under any circumstances. The government will take strict action against the criminal elements involved in such incidents. Director General of Police Shri Vivek Johri informed that three accused have been arrested in this incident. In the background of the incident that occurred about two months ago, there are games like PUBG, which have already been banned. Chief Minister Shri Chouhan directed to keep a watch on such activities. He further stated that those guilty of not taking action in connection to incidents against girls and women in the society should also be punished.
